چکیده

Fruits of two cultivars guava, Psidium guajava L., (‘Tailandesa’ and ‘Kumagai’) garlic passion fruit, Passiflora tenuifila Killip were collected to evaluate the infestation co-infestation frugivorous flies associated parasitoids new hosts. Five species Tephritoidea recovered in Tailandesa guavas, three Kumagai guavas fruit. This is first report a fly infesting P. tenuifila. Individualization fruit samples was used determine between Anastrepha spp., Ceratitis capitata Neosilba spp. each There fly/parasitoid association for Doryctobracon areolatus Lopheucoila anastrephae with fraterculus guavas. Infestation indices emergence rate demonstrated that are hosts capable withstanding an index ? 50 pupae/fruit have 75%. The ability some maintain sustain population at high levels may interfere pest management.

Diversity and seasonality of fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae and Lonchaeidae) and their parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Braconidae and Figitidae) in orchards of guava, loquat and peach.

This work was carried out in orchards of guava progenies, and loquat and peach cultivars, in Monte Alegre do Sul, SP, Brazil, in 2002 and 2003. Guavas and loquats were bagged and unbagged bi-weekly and weekly, respectively, for assessment of the infestation period. Peach was only bagged weekly. The assays started when the fruits were at the beginning of development, but still green. Ripe fruits...

Host breadth and parasitoids of fruit flies (Anastrepha spp.) (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Puerto Rico.

Twenty fruit species representing 12 families were collected from various regions in western Puerto Rico and monitored for the emergence of Anastrepha spp. pupae. We collected 14,154 tephritid pupae from 16 fruit species representing 10 families. The relative infestations of these fruits (pupae per kilogram of fruit) were recorded. Recorded host ranges were not in complete agreement with those ...

A set of multi-entry identification keys to African frugivorous flies (Diptera, Tephritidae)

Tephritid fruit flies, or "true" fruit flies (Diptera, Tephritidae) include approximately 500 genera and 4800 valid species (Norrbom 2004), whose vast majority (95%) is represented by phytophagous species (reviewed in Aluja and Norrbom 1999). Among them, frugivorous flies represent approximately 25–30% of all tephritid species, occur in tropical and temperate regions of all continents except th...
